More info

The Gem Room — calm, cosy and full of charm.

The Gem Room is a peaceful mountain hideaway for solo travellers or couples.

Wake to soft morning light over the Blue Mountains, and spend your days unwinding in your own private garden. It's the perfect spot to read, rest, and reconnect — with yourself or someone special.

The space

The Gem is a real hidden gem, cosy with views overlooking the Blue Mountains.

A perfect place to lie in bed and catch the early-morning sunrise, or sit on the private terrace and watch the colours of sunset.

This room has its own private garden area where you may catch a sight of the many varieties of birds and butterflies living in the canopy.

Our guesthouse is self-catering, which means you've got the freedom to cook your own meals whenever it suits you. To get you started, we include a complimentary breakfast on your first morning — just our way of saying welcome!

For everything else, you're welcome to use the shared kitchen, fully equipped with the basics for cooking and storing food. If you don't feel like cooking, no problem — we've teamed up with a great local chef who can deliver delicious homemade dinners right to the guesthouse. Menus and ordering info are available when you arrive.

We're always around if you need help or local tips — just let us know!

If you're driving or like hiking, there are a few restaurants and cafés nearby perfect for lunch.

We do not have any television in our rooms as we focus on natural remedies for life and giving you an experience you'll never forget.

Guest access

The heart of the property is our kitchen and dining area — perfect for meals with mountain views, games, or a good chat.

Guests have access to our rustic outdoor gym and a tucked-away gazebo with a sun deck, pool table, dartboard, and chill-out space.

There are open areas around the property for yoga, games, exercise, or just relaxing by the sound of the river.

During your stay

No schedules. No pressure. Just comfort — as much or as little as needed.

Other things to note

Getting here

We're located just off the B1 route heading toward New Castle.

We can arrange a pick-up service which we strongly recommend, as road conditions have worsened due to the recent storms. You can reach out to us for more information. We can be flexible with arrival times when using our pick-up service, and you can arrange this with us in advance.

If you do wish to make your own way here, please be aware that the mountain roads are narrow in places. Some parts of the road are only accessible with a 4x4, and local taxis will likely not be able to make it right to the property if they are not familiar with the roads. These are truly mountain roads for the adventurous! Airport taxis and Uber taxis are not recommended. Please aim to arrive by 6pm, as the roads are challenging after dark.

Please do reach out for any support regarding your travel arrangements beforehand.

Evenings can get cool in the mountains, so we recommend bringing a warm sweater and a rain mac — just in case.

Payment

Cash is preferred for tours and meals ordered from the local chef, but card is accepted.
